The Deco Guys Bid Farewell to New Hope Retail Scene

Herb Millman and John Dwyer: The Deco Guys.

Yes, they’ve been announcing their retirement forever, but this weekend marks the last time Herb Millman and John Dwyer will open their doors at Cockamamie’s Art Deco Emporium on North Main Street in New Hope.

The duo have run the New Hope retail spot for more than 20 years, and also been active in a variety of civic organizations, including the New Hope Eagle Volunteer Fire Company, Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce, and Revitalization Committee.

Perhaps Millman and Dwyer are best known as the “Deco Guys” of QVC Network fame and the “Out of the Closet” cable antique show. Millman plans to continue Cockamamie’s online, and temper Dwyer’s effusive theater reviews in the Free Press.

We bid Cockamamie’s adieu from the New Hope shopping scene, but know Millman and Dwyer will never be far away. Stop by the store at 13 N. Main St. this weekend and you really will get up to 60% off!

The first Cockamamie’s on West Bridge Street.

John and Herb get married.
