They’re back: the creepiest dolls on the planet return to New Hope

It must be fall because the nights are growing cooler, the kids are back, and this year’s batch of Kreepy Kuties hits the shelves at Mechanic Street Mugs on Saturday.

Designed by the inventive and distinctly dark Queen Morbid, this year’s bunch, the fourth annual installation, is the best yet from an artistic viewpoint. Gone are some of the more gory and violent creations (still not a great idea to bring young kids) and in their place is a more subtle, sad, and disturbing element that seems to reflect the rage and contempt of forced silence. Obviously, these aren’t your usual collector dolls — each has a unique look, pose, name and perspective on the mute terror they seem to represent.

Kreepy Kuties IV by Queen Morbid debuts Staurday at Mechanic Street Mugs, 10 West Mechanic Street; 215-630-4338.
