New Hope Police bust Lower Southampton police sergeant for alleged DUI, careless driving, running a red light

new hope free press police carA Lower Southampton police sergeant was charged with driving under the influence, careless driving, and failure to stop at a red signal as a result of a traffic stop by New Hope Police Officer Ryan Moore, according to court filings and online records.

Frank C. Leonhardt III of Feasterville, 54, was charged by written summons with DUI and other violations on Sept. 26, according to court records filed Oct. 2. One of the four DUI-related charges was delineated as “Highest Rte of Alc (BAC .16+) 1st Off”, the court docket shows.

A preliminary hearing has been set for Nov. 17 in front of Judge Maggie Snow. A New Hope Police Department spokesperson was not immediately available for comment.
