The Solebury Township Police Department issued the following information about traffic and detours due to the Thompson Bucks County Classic bicycle race:
Thompson Bucks County Classic – Road closures and traffic delays from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Race course description: After the start in New Hope, the race will head up Sugan Road to Sawmill Road, and to Aquetong Road into Carversville for the first of six laps over Wismer Road, Dark Hollow Road, Covered Bridge Road, Tohickon Hill Road, River Road, Greenhill Road back to Sawmill Road onto Aquetong Road back into Carversville. Upon completion of the final lap, the surviving riders will head up Carversville Road thru Buckingham Township to the finish at the Arts Festival in the Center of Doylestown.
From 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. expect Sugan Road to be closed from New Hope Borough to Sawmill Road into Carversville.
10:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. expect the roads covering the Carversville to Point Pleasant to Lumberville back to Carversville to be closed intermittently.
Police officers, fire police and other volunteers will be assisting with these road closures, so please cooperate with all road closures.
