Lambertville Police Beat: DUIs, Small Amounts of Weed, Theft from an Unlocked Vehicle

On Nov. 23, Lambertville police responded to the area of Jefferson Road for a report of a possible brush fire. Patrol determined that an area of brush, approximately 25′ x 25′, along the road and extending down the hill and into the trees, was burning.

Lambertville Fire Department responded to the scene and the fire was extinguished. Investigation revealed the fire to appear to have been caused by discarded ashes from an unknown fire place. Ptl. Jones investigated.

Case #16010684:

Casey L. Goldsmith, 31, of Holland, was arrested on Thursday, Dec. 1, at 1:47 a.m., for Possession of CDS.

While on patrol, Ptl. Pascoe observed Goldsmith’s vehicle traveling in the area of State Highway 165 with a license plate light out. Ptl. Pascoe stopped Goldsmith in the area of State Highway 29 and Weeden Street.

Subsequent to investigation, Goldsmith was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and a silver metal grinder containing suspected marijuana residue. He was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Less Than 50 Grams of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Maintenance of Lamps. Goldsmith was later released with a pending court date.

Case #16010706:

Jonathan W. Roberts, 36, of Newark, Del., was arrested on Friday, Dec. 2, at 12:42 a.m., for an active warrant.

While on patrol, Ptl. Bast observed Roberts’ vehicle traveling in the area of State Highway 179 at what appeared to be a high rate of speed. Ptl. Bast stopped Roberts in the area of Lambert Lane and Bridge Street.

Subsequent to investigation, Roberts was found to have an active NCIC warrant issued out of Chester County District Attorney’s Office. He was placed under arrest and processed for the warrant. Roberts was charged with being a fugitive from justice and was later lodged in the Hunterdon County Jail.

Case #16010907

On Dec. 8, Pt. Bast received a report of a theft from an unlocked vehicle. The vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked in the area of North Main and Bridge streets on the evenings of Dec. 6 and 7. The items taken included loose change, a Garmin GPS unit, fingerless gloves, and a black comb. Christian S. Howell of Trenton was arrested on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 2:12 a.m., for Driving Under the Influence.

While on patrol, Lt. Brown observed Howell’s vehicle traveling in the area of State Highway 29 at what appeared to be a high rate of speed. Lt. Brown stopped Howell’s vehicle in the area of Route 29 and Weeden Street. Subsequent to investigation, Howell was found to be under the influence of alcohol, and was placed under arrest. He was charged with Driving Under the Influence, Speeding, and Careless Driving. Howell was later released with a pending court date.

Alexander J. Gaudreau, 25, of Wrightstown, N.J., was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 8:42 p.m., for Possession of CDS.

While on patrol, Ptl. Pascoe observed Gaudreau’s vehicle traveling in the area of State Highway 179 with a license plate light out and tinted windows. Ptl. Pascoe stopped Gaudreau in the area of State Highway 29 and Weeden Street.

Subsequent to investigation, Gaudreau was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana, a blue glass pipe with suspected marijuana residue, a silver metal grinder and rolling papers. He was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Less Than 50 Grams of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Maintenance of Lamps. Gaudreau was later released with a pending court date.

Case #16011196:

Katie M. Ternus, 35, of Lambertville, was arrested on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 11 p.m., for DUI.

On Dec. 18, patrol responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in the area of State Highway 179 and North Union Street. Upon arrival, Ptl. Cooper determined that Ternus crashed her vehicle into a parked vehicle on State Highway 179.

Subsequent to investigation, Ternus was found to be under the influence of alcohol, and placed under arrest. Ptl. Cooper charged Ternus with DUI, Refusal to Submit to Chemical Testing, Cell Phone Use, and Careless Driving. She was later released with a pending court date.

Case #16011080:

Luke P. Dumas, 20, of Lambertville, was arrested on Monday, Dec. 19, at 1:48 a.m., for DUI/Possession of CDS.

While on patrol, Lt. Brown observed Dumas’ vehicle driving erratically in the area of Coryell Street. Lt. Brown stopped Dumas in the area of Coryell Street and North Union Street. Subsequent to investigation, Dumas was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana, and under the influence of alcohol. He was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Less Than 50 Grams of Marijuana, Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle, and DUI. Dumas was later released with a pending court date.
