Solebury Township police in melee with allegedly intoxicated Doylestown male following traffic incident

solebury policeA report came across the scanner at 5:21 Tuesday — the kind one dreads hearing: “Officer fighting with suspect / request assistance.”

A vehicle had crashed approximately 15 minutes earlier near the intersection of Routes 179 and 202, and the reportedly intoxicated driver had fled the scene on foot before police arrived, according to Solebury Township Police Corporal Jonathan Koretzky.

“A Solebury Township Police officer located the operator of the vehicle, a 35-year-old male from Doylestown, in the area,” he said.

“The male failed to comply to verbal orders from the officers, and began pushing an officer,” continued Koretzky.  “The subject resisted arrest during this time, and was eventually taken into custody when additional officers responded.”

Added Koretzky, “The male is awaiting arraignment for numerous criminal and traffic offenses.”
