Law Enforcement To Collect Expired & Unwanted Drugs In New Hope

Do you have old, unwanted, or expired medications?

This weekend will offer an easy way for local residents to get rid of them safely.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m..

Since the local program’s start in 2016, the county has collected 252,781.28 pounds of medications.

“Imagine the weight of a pill,” said Diane Rosati, executive director of the Bucks County Drug and Alcohol Commission. “We have collected 252,781.28 pounds of medications in Bucks County, which is just incredible.”

The collection is not limited to prescription drugs. Law enforcement officers will be on-site to accept over-the-counter medications, pet medicines, vitamins, and vaping products.

Organizers said that residents can use drive-up or walk-in options to drop off materials.

Of the 48 participating locations, 30 sites will also accept sharps. Additionally, select locations will distribute Narcan while supplies last.
