The search for a 23-year-old man who was reported missing in the Delaware River just south of the City of Lambertville continued Wednesday.
The West Amwell Fire Company said they were called to Firemen’s Island in West Amwell Township at 6:06 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a missing person. The call was upgraded to a water search.
The search involved multiple boats in the water into Tuesday night. A search helicopter was brought in to assist.
On Wednesday morning, the search resumed.
“Unfortunately, the victim remains unaccounted for at this time. Our thoughts are with the family during this challenging time,” the West Amwell Fire Company posted on social media.
Crews from the City of Lambertville Fire Department and Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance and Rescue Squad assisted, along with New Jersey State Police.
