New Hope Borough Police Department responded to the Mansion Inn at 9 S. Main Street for a report of a man, later identified as Stroka, who trespassed on the property, which was undergoing construction, on Oct. 12.

Stroka, wearing the victim’s clothes he stole from a nearby property, reportedly entered one of the hotel rooms by forcefully kicking open the door, according to security footage obtained by police. He then allegedly stole alcoholic beverages from the restaurant inside. Inside a nearby property that the victim owned, Stroka reportedly left the toilet, with no running water, unflushed and scattered the victim’s clothes.

When police arrived at the hotel on Oct. 15, they made contact with Stroka, who was in another room. He was then arrested.

Inside the room, police said they found empty bottles of wine, clothing belonging to the victim, and pry marks on the lock mechanism and door frame. Stroka’s backpack also reportedly contained screwdrivers, gloves, and wood files, in addition to THC gummies and a metal purple grinder with suspected marijuana.

Stroka was arraigned on Oct. 15 at 11 a.m. by Magisterial District Judge Timothy J. Barton. His preliminary hearing is on Oct. 22 at 9 a.m.
