PHOTOS: Fallen Bucks County Officers Honored

Police gathered this week for the ceremony.

Law enforcement gathered Monday evening at St. Andrew’s Church in Newtown Township for the annual Bucks County Police Memorial Service that honors officers who died in the line of duty.

Families of the fallen were escorted by local officers, rangers, deputies, and constables.

The ceremony paid tribute to fallen officers, including:

  • Warrington Township Officer Stephen Plum, who died May 16, 2022, due to a medical condition.
  • Bucks County Ranger Thomas Booz, who died June 6, 2020, from complications related to COVID-19.
  • Middletown Township Detective Christopher Jones, who was struck by a car Jan. 29, 2009.
  • Newtown Borough Officer Brian S. Gregg, who was shot by a suspect Sept. 29, 2005.
  • Plumstead Township Officer Joseph E. Hanusey III, who died May 18, 2002, in a vehicle accident.
  • Bucks County Ranger Stanley E. Flynn, who died June 9, 1993, due to a medical condition.
  • Deputy Sheriff Thomas A. Bateman, who died Sept. 22, 1986, in a vehicle accident.
  • Deputy Sheriff George M. Warta Jr., who died Sept. 22, 1986, in a vehicle accident.
  • Bensalem Township Officer Robert A. Yezzi, who was struck by a car Aug. 12, 1980.
  • Bensalem Township Officer James K. Armstrong, who was shot by a suspect April 15, 1975.
  • Bristol Township Sgt. George M. Stuckey, who was shot by a suspect March 29, 1972.
  • Dublin Borough Chief Eli M. Myers, who was struck by a car Oct. 31, 1965.
  • Bucks County Sheriff Abraham L. Kulp, who was shot by a suspect Feb. 24, 1927.
  • Constable Henry A. Kolbe, who was shot Sept. 22, 1914, while arresting a fugitive.
  • Deputy Constable Erwin Mondeau, who was shot Feb. 23, 1898, while attempting to arrest a suspect.
