It’s a new year. And that means pet owners living in the City of Lambertville need to register their pets again.

The news was announced by officials recently in the city.

Pet owners have until February 29 to submit their pet registration form to renew their pets in the city.

Owners of pet dogs and outdoor cats are required to maintain a current pet license once the animal reaches 7 months of age.

The fees are as follows: for spayed or neutered dogs, the cost is $15; for dogs that are not spayed or neutered, the fee is $18. For outdoor cats, the fee is $15, while indoor cats can be licensed for free.

A $25 late fee will be forced on residents who submit on or after March 1.

To apply for a new license or to renew an existing one, proof of rabies vaccination valid through at least November of the current year is required.

The City of Lambertville is home to many amazing pets. Every Halloween, the city hosts a pet parade that features proud owners walking their dogs in spooky costumes along the parade route. It also features several fun games and fall-themed activities.

As always, pet owners are reminded to pick up after their dogs during walks.
