ACME Screening Room in Lambertville Presents ‘Strike a Pose’ Jan. 20-22

strike a pose | new hope free pressACME Screening Room in Lambertville will present “Strike a Pose,” the 2016 Dutch/Belgian documentary film about the dancers who performed with Madonna in her “Blond Ambition ” tour 26 years ago.

Some of the dancers continued to act, and all of them kept dancing through good times and bad. Appearing in “Strike a Pose” are dancers Kevin Stea, Carlton Wilborn, Luis Xtravaganza Camacho, Jose Gutierez Xtravaganza, Salim Gauwloos, Oliver S. Crumes III, and Sue Trupin, mother of original dancer Gabriel Trupin, who succumbed to AIDS.

“Strike a Pose” won best LGBT Film at the Key West Film Festival, and Best Queer Film of 2016 at the Merlinka Festival, along with a slew of award nominations.

ACME will screen the film on Friday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Jan. 21, at 7:50 p.m.; and Sunday, Jan. 22, at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $6 for members, and $8 for non-members. The film is rated NR, and runs 1 hour and 23 minutes.
