Solebury Township Plans Major April Roadside Cleanup

One of Solebury’s long standing traditions is to celebrate the arrival of spring by organizing community volunteers to help clean up our township’s roadways. This year, a major roadside clean up is being planned by Solebury Township’s Environmental Advisory Council  and the newly formed Coalition of Solebury watershed associations (Aquetong, Paunacussing, Pidcock, and Primrose) whose mission is to promote awareness and active participation of the community in the stewardship of the land and water resources of Solebury Township.

We are seeking volunteers to help in the clean-up on Sunday, April 12th from 9:00am to 12:00pm.

On the morning of April 12th (rain date, April 19th), volunteers will gather at one of four locations. The meeting locations for each watershed are:

  • Aquetong Creek Watershed volunteers will meet at the Bucks County Audubon Society’s Visitor Center, 2877 Creamery Road, New Hope, PA
  •            Paunacussing Creek Watershed at Tinsman Brothers Lumber, 6632 Old Carversville Road, Lumberville, PA
  • Pidcock Creek Watershed at 6079 Pidcock Creek Road, New Hope, PA
  • Primrose Creek Watershed at McGill’s Hill, 10 Chapel Road, New Hope, PA

We ask all volunteers to arrive and check in at their registered location from 8:30am to 9:00am where they will receive their assignments and pick up trash bags, gloves and safety vests provided by Penn DOT and Solebury Township.  The cleanup will end by or before noon at which time the volunteers will return to their watershed meeting location to deposit bags of litter and return supplies they don’t want.

If you can help, please register online at http://goo.gl/forms/hlBhmsSSZd.

We hope you will help us keep Solebury Township beautiful by contributing two hours of your time on the roadside clean-up day. By working together, we will make a big difference.
