As a painter (oils, acrylics, watercolor), sculptor (wood, stone, clay), draughtsman and photographer, Kirk Larsen has been recognized with over 120 awards since 1994. A dedicated artist and insightful lively instructor, he has worked in over 327 mediums. In oils he is a celebrated maritime painter with work in the permanent collection of The Mystic Seaport museum of America and the Sea. Always an outdoorsman with a penchant for water he started painting on location long before knowing the term plein air.  Having discovered Plein Air events and competitions he thrives on the dynamic. He relishes the challenge of pushing his art further and consistently growing in technique and styles.
