Emmy Award winning Tonight Show Comedian Mike Dugan’s “Men Fake Foreplay” is a hilarious exploration of the trials and errors encountered on the road to becoming a man in a ‘boys-will-be-boys’ world.  What begins as a naive attempt to “figure out women” quickly shifts into a humorous and insightful tour of the male psyche, the cultural influences that shape a man’s character, and the issues that block a man’s ability to achieve romantic love and intimacy.

Based on his book, “Men Fake Foreplay…and Other Lies That Are True”, Dugan’s show takes unflinching comedic aim at men’s experiences with responsibility, trust, feelings, intimacy, commitment, role models, dating , marriage, lying, cheating, divorce, fantasizing, blaming, dancing, and, especially, their relationships with women.  Mike’s long career of comedy writing and performing provides a unique and socially conscious take on these topics that has consistently elicited responses describing the show as “hilarious, important, and necessary”.  The result is a thoughtful and revealing assessment of the male experience – filled with observational comedy at tis best.

“A funny, incisive, one-man journey to enlightenment.”   – San Francisco Bay Times

“Hilarious, Profound, Important.” – Ben Vereen

“Incisive, Insightful, Interesting and Important. Oh, and Funny.  Laugh out-loud, ain’t that the truth, stop you’re killin’ me, funny.”  – Auburn New York Citizen

Mike Dugan has toured extensively throughout America, headlining comedy clubs and appearing as an opening act for musical artists such as Roy Orbison, Ricki Lee Jones, Chuck Berry, Harry Belafonte, John Hyatt and Shawn Colvin. Dugan also spent several years performing internationally in London, Paris, Amsterdam, Ireland, and Scotland, where he premiered ‘Men Fake Foreplay’ for a month long run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.  He received his Emmy Award for his writing on HBO’s Dennis Miller Live, and was also nominated for Cable Ace and Writers Guild of America Awards. Dugan has made over seventy national television appearances, and has the distinction of being one of only a handful of stand ups to have performed on the Tonight Show with both Johnny Carson and Jay Leno.
