Purpose: Develop Recommendations for Gifted Education in New Hope –Solebury Schools

These four work sessions are designed to examine the attached data, the current best practices from the field, as well as research based practices in order to make potential program revisions, adjustments, and ultimately recommendations on meeting the needs of our students with GIEPs. Additionally, we will also examine how to meet the needs of students who did not qualify for a GIEP but who demonstrate an educational need for challenges/enrichment.

People will work in groups the first night by topics:

1) synthesizing the survey and focus/group data

2) analyzing the research

3) examining best practice

4) review of recommended instructional practices/ methodologies

Each group will report out to move toward session two where we will work to start synthesizing these down toward recommendations for NHSD, based on our unique characteristics.
