Lambertville artist, Leyla Spencer will be showing her mosaic work at Bucks on Bridge, at 25 Bridge St, Lambertville, NJ, from July 1 through July 30. Most of these mosaics were created at the start of the pandemic and represent Spencer’s desires to be out in the world. As a result it contains scenes from Cape Cod to brightly colored abstracts.
“My work is like painting with glass,” says Spencer. “The intense colors and textures really lend themselves to wonderful forms. Using some iridescent glass in a piece makes it change with the light. The glass is so interesting to work with.”
Her work consists of wall pieces and musical instruments. All of the wall pieces are suitable for hanging outdoors, except for musical instruments.
