Tosca Lacolibri
The Hummingbird of the Orient
One Autumn Evening When East Meets West

10.30.2014 | 20:00 Thursday | The RRazz Room 6426 Lower York Road New Hope

“A Pre-Halloween treat, not trick! On the evening of the 30th of October when the clock strikes eight, an Eastern Rose, Tosca Lacolibri will grace the country for the first time in one of the most prominent live music venues in the state, The Rrazz Room in New Hope, Pennsylvania. Tosca will be putting up a night a la Seconde Guerre Mondiale on “One Autumn Evening When East Meets West.” She will be bringing songs from all the lands she calls home and some she picked up on her various world travels, as if they were fresh produce she harvested and transported on a boat and a rickshaw herself to bring to the  land of the free.

The show will feature classical pianist, James E. Redcay III from New York City and our own multi instrument, multi talent musician-visual artist,Lorenzo Branca, the modern day renaissance man from Bucks County, PA. For $20.00 and a two-item minimum, get to wind your clocks to Greenwich Mean Time/UTC and turn your calendars thousands pages back and get to celebrate a holiday that only children used to enjoy. After all, we were all once children of the Second World War -playing under the sun as missiles deploy.”

Artist Description

Tosca, the Hummingbird of the Orient, considers the world her home.  She started singing, or she likes to put it, ‘chirping’ in a local Lounge in Subic Bay, the former US Naval Base in the Philippines -where she grew up. Tosca has flown to perform across Asia, Europe, Australia and the United States. For a while, she was part of an entertainment scene in the Gaming industry in China and left a stable and flourishing spot to end the profession of ‘entertaining’ and pursue a career in ‘performing’ her masterpieces. She premiered in  the US airwaves singing McHughes and The Mills Brothers music in WMBG, Williamsburg, Virginia in July. She delivers music with a very accurate remark of that of the yesteryears. A humming sound that the world thought have already gone with the sunken ships. A sound embraceable by those who have lived, are living and will eventually live.”
