Call For Hands-On Volunteers: Families, Individuals, Groups, Students

Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve, a nonprofit nature preserve and botanical garden, is calling for volunteers who’d like to get

involved in hands-on environmental stewardship. Families, individuals, groups and students are invited to Earth Day Work Day 2015.

This free event is a unique opportunity to work with the Preserve’s environmental experts to help protect Pennsylvania’s native

plants. After the work is finished, eco-conscious volunteers will have the chance to unwind and enjoy a delicious complimentary

lunch in the Visitor Center.  The Preserve will validate vouchers for those fulfilling volunteer service hour requirements.  Advance

registration is required by calling 215-862-2924 or emailing mcguire@bhwp.org.

Trish McGuire, Volunteer Coordinator, describes the event:

There is something for every ability level from easy to strenuous. Earth Day Work Day 2015 activities include removal

of invasive and non-native plants, general grounds and trails maintenance, and debris cleanup. It’s a fun day that really

makes a difference as we prepare our grounds for the busy spring and summer seasons.
