The phrase ‘If I Don’t Speak A Word’ comes from the song ‘Before Goodnight’, a song that finds Brian Dolzani singing calmly and contemplatively about a relationship and its meaning and worth. ‘I’ve always accepted people and relationships easily and naturally, both healthy and unhealthy’ Brian says. ‘And I’m learning now as I’m getting older how that’s not good in its extreme. More of me has to come out of hiding.’ It’s this insightful manner in which Brian’s latest record is written and sung, taking cue from Plato and his notion of ‘The Examined Life.’
