The Irish Skirmish, a premier youth lacrosse tournament and festival hosted by Central Bucks Athletic Association (CBAA) Lacrosse, is planned for April 22 and 23rd at Herbst Field in Pipersville, PA. The event will include over 110 boys’ and girls’ teams from grades 3rd through 8th. Teams will be coming from MD, NY, CT, NJ and throughout PA to compete at this annual tournament.
Based on prior years’ attendance, over 5,000 attendees and 2,200 players are expected to participate in over 200 games during this two-day event. The food and merchandise options have been expanded to help make this year’s event the most exciting in its 11-year history. “Skirmish is the reason we got involved in lacrosse,” said Nick Walter, President of CBAA Lacrosse. “My son played travel baseball and was interested in lacrosse because the skillsets are so much like basketball and soccer, that he wanted to try it out. We were asked to play in Skirmish and our entire family loved the festival environment so much, that we became a Lacrosse family.”
Irish Skirmish was originally started after CBAA coach Brian Riley, passed away suddenly doing what he loved most – coaching lacrosse. His friends and fellow coaches decided to honor his legacy by creating a tournament to raise money for the Riley family and other local charities, Money raised from this event continues to support local youth sports programs and local charities.
If you are a lacrosse fan or interested in finding more about this growing sport, you won’t want to miss this great tournament, merchandise, food and entertainment.
