The Solebury Township Police Department is offering a free Community Police Academy this fall.
The department said the goal is to give residents a hands-on look at township law enforcement operations.
The six-week program is created to build a stronger bond between community members and the police department while providing insight into the work required to keep the township of 8,700 residents safe.
Community Police Academy sessions will run on six consecutive Wednesday evenings from Sept. 23 through Oct. 28, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Classes will take place at the Solebury Township Building on Sugan Road.
Those taking part in the Community Police Academy will be able to sit in on a patrol vehicle demonstration and a traffic stop simulation, work a mock crime scene investigation, try on DUI impairment goggles, witness a K-9 demonstration, view a drone operations demonstration, and tour the police department.
