The Pennsylvania State police will hold a sobriety checkpoint in central or upper Bucks County this weekend as part of an effort to crack down on impaired driving.

Troopers from Pennsylvania State Police Troop M in Dublin will run the detail between Friday and Sunday.
During the checkpoint, troopers stop vehicles at designated locations to look at motorists for signs or behaviors associated with alcohol or drug impairment.
The main goal of the operation is to reduce the number of severe and fatal crashes caused by driving under the influence, while keeping impaired drivers off state highways, state police said.

Troopers reported in a statement at drivers who flee could face a maximum penalty of seven years in prison, a $15,000 fine, and restitution for any damages or injuries resulting from a pursuit.
