City of Lambertville authorities on Friday addressed rumors of federal law enforcement activity.

Lt. Robert Brown, the officer-in-charge of the Lambertville Police Department, issued a statement Friday afternoon to dispel reports that federal agents had been conducting immigration enforcement actions within the community.

“Following an investigation into these matters, the Lambertville Police Department has confirmed that no such actions have occurred,” Brown said.

The department acknowledged that the reports had caused concern among local residents.

Brown stated that the agency’s priority is to ensure the community remains both safe and informed.

“We understand that these types of reports affect our community,” Brown said in the statement.

Police did not specify the nature of the alleged federal actions or the source of the initial reports.

The department is encouraging residents with additional questions to contact them directly at 609-397-3132.
