One person was hospitalized after a Wednesday afternoon fire in the City of Lambertville.

Firefighters were dispatched to the age-restricted Hibernia Apartments on South Main Street around 3:15 p.m. for a reported blaze on the third floor.

The fire was quickly placed under control and was contained to the kitchen.

Barlow said the woman accidentally bumped the stove, turned on a burner, and it ignited some plastic utensils and cups.

No other injuries were reported, and the damage was held to the one apartment, the chief said.

Firefighters were on the scene for 30 minutes.

In addition to the City of Lambertville Fire Department, the West Amwell, New Hope Eagle, and Union of Titusville fire companies responded.
