Prices are increases.

HBO Max is raising prices across all of its monthly subscription tiers, the company announced last week, joining other major streaming services in implementing cost hikes.

The price increases, which are effective immediately for new subscribers, will affect all three of HBO Max’s plans.

The Basic with Ads plan is increasing by $1 to $10.99 a month. The Standard plan will rise $1.50 to $18.49 a month, and the top-tier Premium plan is going up $2 to $22.99 monthly.

Existing monthly subscribers will not see the change on their bill until their next billing date on or after Nov. 20, the company said. They will be notified 30 days before their renewal date with the new price.

HBO Max parent company Warner Bros. Discovery reported that it had 125.7 million paying subscribers across all of its streaming services as of June 30.

The price adjustments follow a broader trend in the streaming industry, with competitors including Netflix and Disney+ having announced their own price hikes this year.

The increase comes after the service was rebranded from Max back to HBO Max earlier this year after undoing a previous name change unveiled in 2023.
