Police in Solebury Township announced the arrest of a Hatboro man Friday following alleged threats of violence made against police officers on social media.

The incident began on Tuesday after the Solebury Township Police Department posted a public service announcement on its Facebook page on new traffic restrictions in the 6200 block of Lower Mountain Road between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., police said.

An individual allegedly published a direct threat in the comments section of the post, stating he would drive through the restricted area and daring officers to stop him, police stated.

If officers intervened, the man said he would “shoot them dead,” according to police.

Detectives launched an investigation and identified the man behind the threats as Manuel Cabral, 45, of Hatboro of Montgomery County.

Cabral was apprehended and arrested on Friday at approximately 9:20 a.m., according to the Solebury Township Police Department.

The Upper Moreland Township Police Department in Montgomery County assisted in the arrest.

Cabral was arraigned by the District Judge Brian Marriott and was transported to the Bucks County Correctional Facility after failing to post 10 percent of the $100,000 cash bail.
