Solebury Township Board of Supervisors Vice Chairperson Hanna Howe announced she is resigning effective Oct. 15.

The supervisors will appoint a replacement to fill the remainder of Howe’s six-year term, which runs through 2027.

State law requires the board to interview candidates and appoint a successor by Nov. 14.

“We’re going to miss her,” Supervisor Chairperson Mark Baum-Baicker said of Howe’s resignation.

The supervisors are accepting letters of interest from township residents for the vacant seat.

According to officials, residents must be registered voters who have lived in Solebury Township continuously for at least one year.

Letters of interest, along with a resume, must be submitted to Township Secretary Catherine Cataldi at ccataldi@soleburytwp.org by 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21.

The township will schedule special meetings to interview candidates, who must be able to attend the interview session to be considered for the position.

A vote on the appointment to fill the vacancy will be made at a public meeting prior to Nov. 14.
