A commercial real estate developer with several properties already in New Hope Borough has acquired the Dubliner on the Delaware restaurant and bar at 34 North Main Street.

Landmark Developers, and its affiliates, purchased the Dubliner on the Delaware site for $1.8 million, the Philadelphia Business Journal reported.

Future plans for the site were not announced.

County property records show the firm has spent millions in recent years on property near North Main Street and East Randolph Street.

The developer, which is based in North Jersey and plans to expand, according to its website, is familiar with the area. Landmark already owns The Logan Inn and the Mansion Inn in New Hope Borough and Hotel du Village in Solebury Township. It also operates the Cascade Lodge in Kintnersville.

The Dubliner on the Delaware remains open but is slated to close in late December before its lease expires, the Philadelphia Business Journal reported.

Mother’s Restaurant was in the spot before the Dubliner opened there in 2015.

The building housing the restaurant dates back to 1875, according to county records.

Surrounding the acquired property, Landmark Developers previously proposed a riverfront 44-room “boutique hotel” with a eatery. That proposal, which was called “The Landing,” has not been presented to borough officials and the public in more than a year.

Residents spoke out against The Landing’s plans at public meetings.
