New Hope Borough is capping off its summer series with a giant pep rally for Philadelphia Eagles fans with a sports-themed fireworks and drone show, block party, and live music on Friday, Sept. 5.
The free event will be held the same weekend as the Eagles’ home opener.
The First Friday Fireworks, Drone Show, and Block Party is a collaboration between Visit New Hope and the New Hope Chamber of Commerce, with support from Union Chill and New Hope Celebrates.
“We broke records and 10,000 people came out for our last display, and we are so thrilled to add a new twist to our season finale,” said Michael Sklar, president of both the New Hope Chamber of Commerce and Visit New Hope. “Bringing a Philadelphia Eagles theme into the mix will crank the excitement even higher — it’s going to be a huge town party and the region’s largest public pep rally.”
The festivities will kick off with a block party on Stockton Avenue from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The road will be closed to vehicle traffic starting at 2 p.m. The block party will feature local vendors, including 1675 Spirits, Kitty Couture, and Wandering Wildflowers. A special sports-themed pop-up will also be located at the New Hope Visit Center with vendors like NRS Boutique and Greatness Was When..!
Sklar encouraged attendees to “wear green” for the event.
Nearly two dozen restaurants and bars will offer Philly sports-themed food and drink specials.
The first 500 people who visit the block party and visitor center pop-up will receive a complimentary green glow-in-the-dark surprise to wave during the show.
The synchronized fireworks and drone show, which will be inspired by the “Birds,” is scheduled to begin at approximately 9:10 p.m. and will feature Eagles’ colors and symbols.
This year marks the first time New Hope has added a synchronized drone show to its fireworks display.
Visitors can enhance their experience by bringing a Bluetooth speaker and downloading the Pyrocast app (code: F683) to sync with the official soundtrack.
“The energy and excitement for our fireworks and drone show built all year and we can’t wait to combine that with our Philly sports fan spirit,” Sklar said.
