Firefighters responded to a smoke condition at a home on North Main Street on Friday night.

New Hope Eagle Fire Company Chief Gary Breuer said the initial call was an alarm activation at a home in the 100 block of North Main Street in New Hope Borough.

Once at the scene, crews found a smoke condition, which upgraded the response to a tactical box for a dwelling, Breuer said.

The chief said an investigation found the smoke was caused by careless cooking, and there was no fire damage to the home.

Crews used ventilation fans to clear the smoke from the home.

“Luckily, it turned out to be minor,” Breuer said.

No injuries were reported.

New Hope Eagle Fire Company was assisted at the scene by the City of Lambertville Fire Department.
