PennDOT officials reminded the public that a part of River Road (Route 32) will be closed on Friday, May 3.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. River Road will be closed between Windy Bush Road (Route 232) and Brownsburg Road in New Hope Borough, Upper Makefield Township, and Solebury Township for pipe replacement.

During the closure, motorists are directed to use Brownsburg Road, Eagle Road, Pineville Road, and Windy Bush Road, PennDOT officials said.

The closure comes after PennDOT has been conducting pipe replacement work along River Road for weeks, which has caused some daytime closures.

Further up the Delaware River in Bridgeton and Tinicum townships, PennDOT will close River Road between Bridgeton Hill Road and Dark Hollow Road next week.

The closure in Bridgeton and Tinicum townships will take place on Thursday, May 9, and Friday, May 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

For the Upper Bucks County closure, drivers are directed to use Dark Hollow Road, Old Easton Road (Route 413), Easton Road (Route 611), and Marienstein Road/Bridgeton Hill Road.

For both projects, local access will be maintained along River Road.

PennDOT officials said drivers should allow extra time when traveling through work zones.
