The road repaving and improvement program in New Hope Borough is underway.

Work began this week and is expected to be completed by May 24, borough officials said, adding the completion date was weather dependent.

New Hope Borough Council voted earlier this year to repave Saint Andrews Court, Glen Eagles Drive, and Stoney Hill Road.

In March, the council awarded Bray Brothers, of Falls Township, the project for a total price of $100,003.

Council President Ken Maisel said at the time that the project came in several thousand dollars under budget.

With the work getting underway, borough officials have asked residents to plan an alternative, if possible.

“Thank you for your patience while we improve our roadways,” they said.
