Solebury Township police were among a number of agencies who responded to assist with a school threat.

Authorities said the Buckingham Township Police Department was dispatched to Central Bucks High School East at approximately 1:30 p.m. Friday after the school nurse’s office received a threatening call.

The caller used a distorted voice and threatened a shooting at the school unless a ransom was paid, police said.

The school was placed on lockdown from around 1:45 p.m. until 2:10 p.m.

The school’s assigned resource officer was already on the scene and worked with Central Bucks School District officials to respond to the situation.

In addition to Buckingham Township and Solebury Township officers, patrol units from Newtown Township, Plumstead Township, Warwick Township, and the Central Bucks Regional police department also arrived to assist.

Both Central Bucks High School East and the nearby Holicong Middle School were secured. A significant police presence was at the schools, authorities said.

School officials implemented a modified dismissal procedure for safety, police said.

The police were continuing their investigation into the origin of the threat as of Friday afternoon.
