The tiny post office that serves approximately 250 residents in the Carversville section of Solebury Township will remain open.

“Currently there is no plan to close the post office,” U.S. Postal Service spokesperson Paul Smith told NewHopeFreePress.com.

The word from the postal service comes after the Bucks County Courier Times published an article that said the post office was slated to close in the coming weeks.

The article cited an unnamed source and said the post office was saved due to a new lease agreement.

The small post office has served in that role for years and has become a staple in the village.

“The building that now houses the Carversville General Store and Post Office was once the carriage shed and stable for patrons of the adjacent Carversville Inn,” according to the Solebury Township Historic Society.
