Pennsylvania State Police troopers from Bucks County are among 500 law enforcement officials looking for escaped convict Danelo Cavalcante.

Trooper Nathan Branosky, a local spokesperson for the state police, confirmed to NewHopeFreePress.com that troopers from Troop M, which operates stations in Bensalem Township and Dublin Borough, were part of the massive search that was centered in Chester County.

Troopers are leading the search with assistance from municipal and federal law enforcement. There are patrol officers, detectives, pilots, K-9 teams, tactical teams, and game wardens taking part in the search.

State police Lt. Col. George Bivens said troopers from around Pennsylvania are taking part, and noted that teams are being swapped out as the search comes up on two weeks.

No Bucks County local law enforcement agencies are known to be assisting in the search.

On Tuesday, state police said Cavalcante stole a .22-caliber rifle, which created an added threat for the public and law enforcement.

Pennsylvania has seen a number of large manhunts over the past decade. They have involved participation from many law enforcement agencies.

Cavalcante escaped the Chester County prison late last month after he was convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend. He is also reported to be wanted for a murder in his homeland of Brazil.

Since his escape, Cavalcante has eluded law enforcement and had several close calls.
