Crews Training On River Rescue Two From Capsized Vessel

Crews rescued two people from the water and worked to remove the vessel.

A dangerous situation on the Delaware River was quickly handled by rescue crews on Sunday.

In the afternoon hours while the Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance and Rescue Squad was on the Delaware River training, the crew witnessed a vessel striking a rock and capsizing in the rapids in the area of the Lambertville Wing Dam on the City of Lambertville and West Amwell Township.

Upon witnessing the accident, Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance and Rescue Squad Marine 175 alerted Hunterdon County dispatchers about the situation, according to officials.

The Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance and Rescue Squad rescued two people who had ended up in the water.

No injuries reported.

The Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance and Rescue Squad, assisted by the West Amwell Fire Company, undertook the task of removing the capsized vessel from the river.

West Amwell Township police were also at the scene.
