Biden-Harris campaign opens countywide center in New Hope

Candidate Ann Marie Mitchell greets a canine supporter at the New Hope voter activation center

New Hope and Solebury supporters of Joseph Biden, Kamala Harris, and other Democrats running for office on Nov. 3 just got a very convenient location to pick up buttons and signs and to volunteer for the campaigns.

A countywide “voter activation center” opened its doors at noon on Saturday in the center of town next the New Hope-Ivyland train station.

HRC-Bucks Captain Denise Sorin (L) and Campaign Coordinator Roslyn Williams (R)

“We’re very excited to be here, people have been waiting for this, we’re seeing a lot of energy here, and I’m very excited to bring home the next 24 days,” said Ann Marie Mitchell, who is running for State Representative in HD-178 (Bucks County) and helped open the site Saturday. “This is the coordinated campaign location, so this is where volunteers will come to pick up their literature, to come out and support Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and also down the ticket, so that would include me as state representative in the New Hope-Solebury area as part of the 178th, and also of course Christina Finello.”

Denise Sorin, captain of HRC-Bucks, owns the building at 36 W. Bridge St., and provided the storefront there to county Democrats:

“We offered the spot because it has great foot traffic and also it’s great location for people from New Jersey,” she said. “We have buttons, we have stickers, we have window signs, yard signs, and we’ll have t-shirts and masks — all of it is free. We also register volunteers, and they are given their assignments and materials from this location.”

Democratic candidates supported at the site also include Lauren Lareau (PA House District 142), Gary Spillane (HD-144), Robyn Colajezzi (HD-145), Wendy Ullman (HD-143), Harold Hayes (HD-18), Marlene Katz (HD-29), Perry Warren (HD-31), John Galloway (HD-140), and Tina Davis (HD-141).
