Supermarket gift cards available for New Hope, Solebury families in need

Staff and teachers of New Hope-Solebury School District are offering free supermarket gift cards to residents of the community who are struggling during the covid-19 crisis.

The NHSESPA support staff union and NHSEA teachers union say they hope the gift cards will help with everyday needs that, until a week or so ago, we all took for granted.

“The outreach targets the most needy and vulnerable members of our community who are out of work, are now dependent on unemployment, the elderly, or perhaps have gone from a two-paycheck family to one – or no income at all,” said organizers. “Whatever the circumstances, we want to help!”

The group said they have supermarket gift cards ready and available for distribution.

“If you are struggling, or if you know of an individual or family that is struggling, please reach out to the email contacts below,” they said. “All contacts will be kept in strict confidence.”

Organizers said Saturday that those interested in helping fund the effort can donate online.
