River Road in Solebury Township to close next week for patching

River Road between Point Pleasant Pike and Fleecy Dale Road

River Road (Route 32) is scheduled to close next week in Solebury and Plumstead townships for mechanized patching operations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced Friday.

 Weather permitting, the work schedule is:

  • Monday, Oct. 21, and Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., River Road will be closed and detoured between Point Pleasant Pike and Fleecy Dale Road in Plumstead and Solebury townships. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Point Pleasant Pike, Route 413 (Durham Road), Mechanicsville Road and Green Hill Road.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 23, and Thursday, Oct. 24, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., River Road will be closed and detoured between Green Hill Road and Route 263 (Upper York Road). During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Green Hill Road, Mechanicsville Road, Sugan Road and Route 263 (Upper York Road).

Local access will be maintained up to both construction zones, motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work areas because backups and delays will occur, PennDOT said.
