Scott Wallace and Brian Fitzpatrick

The Bucks County Chambers of Commerce and the League of Women Voters of Bucks County will host a U.S. Congressional Candidates Forum in Doylestown on Friday, Oct. 19, from 8 to 9:30 a.m.

Candidates participating in the forum for the 1st Congressional district include Republican incumbent Brian Fitzpatrick and Democratic challenger Scott Wallace.

“We appreciate that these candidates have agreed to participate in a fair and impartial forum that offers each of them an equal opportunity to voice their positions on important issues and respond to one another,” said League Co-President Peggy Dator.

The Forum will be held in the Life Sciences Building Auditorium at Delaware Valley University, 700 E. Butler Ave., in Doylestown. Doors open to the public at 7:30 a.m.

Separately, the League of Women Voters of Bucks County will also present “Preparing for the November 2018 Election” at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Free Library of New Hope and Solebury. League members will explain what citizens need to know in order to be informed, confident voters in November.

The presentation includes an explanation of voting rights, and provides resources to help learn about the candidates and issues. Participants will be able to register to vote, check their registration, or apply for an absentee ballot, if needed. The Library is located at 93 W. Ferry St. in New Hope.

The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 6 General Election is Oct. 9. For voter registration information, call Bucks County Board of Elections at (215) 348-6154 or find out more online.
