Suspicious Lambertville Fires Under Investigation by County

Hunterdon County and local law enforcement officials have launched an investigation into recent “numerous suspicious” fires in the Lambertville area.

A Nov. 13 blaze at ABC Supply Company on Route 179 was intentionally set, according to an investigation by the Hunterdon County Arson Task Force, West Amwell Police Department, Lambertville City Police Department and New Jersey State Fire Marshal’s Office.

A Nov. 30 fire off Buttonwood Street in Lambertville is also under investigation, having been deemed suspicious.

And a Dec. 13 fire at 180 N. Franklin St. in Lambertville was intentionally set, police say.

All of the buildings involved were unoccupied structures typically used as warehouses and garages, say authorities.

“Citizens should be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity to 911,” urged Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns III. “Anyone with information regarding these investigations should contact the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit at (908) 788-1129.”
