Village 2 Man Charged with Kidnapping Two Women in New Hope

Martine’s RiverHouse Restaurant at 14 E. Ferry St. in New Hope.

Andrew Fazey, 39, has been charged with inviting two women he encountered at Martine’s Restaurant back to his apartment at 3 Darien St. in New Hope Friday night, where he and an unidentified friend held them captive and terrorized them for several hours.

Fazey knew one of the women, according to the police affidavit, and both women fell asleep at Fazey’s apartment Friday night. When they awoke early Saturday morning, Fazey became threatening, and slashed one of the women’s shoes and a handbag, and then held the duo against their will for more than four hours.

During their ordeal, Fazey allegedly phoned a friend, who joined him in terrorizing the captive women, threatening to cut them, dumping the contents of their handbags onto the floor, and repeatedly shoving them back down onto chairs when they attempted to rise. Eventually, one of the women, seeing an opening, grabbed her car keys from the floor, signaled her friend, and made a break for door. The terrified women made it to a car they had parked just outside and escaped.

Fazey was arrested by police and charged on Sunday with Kidnapping To Inflict Injury or Terror, Simple Assault, Terroristic Threats with Intent to Terrorize Another, Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Harassment – Communicating Lewd, Threatening, Etc. Language, False Imprisonment, Criminal Mischief – Damage Property, and Theft By Unlawful Taking – Movable Property.

Fazey actually faces two counts of kidnapping, one for each of the women, and each charge of the class 1 felony is punishable by imprisonment of up to 20 years. He was held briefly at Bucks County Correctional Facility on Sunday before being released after posting 10% of his $50,000 bail.

Fazey is scheduled to appear before Judge Maggie Snow at a preliminary hearing on Oct. 23.

Monia, I am confused. Are you blaming the alleged victims, do you know the accused, are you dopey, or all the above?

I’m confused by your story…If he encountered them at Martine’s, how did they have a car parked outside the offenders residence to escape in??
