The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is conducting what appears to be a significant enforcement operation in Hilltown Township.
Fire police in Hilltown Township closed a portion of Diamond Street between Hilltown Pike and Mill Road Monday morning as numerous law enforcement vehicles, including those of the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), began showing up en masse.
Some concerned parents of students at the nearby John M. Grasse Elementary School began posting on social media early Monday, searching for updates. A Hilltown police official said the school was unaffected, and a DEA spokesperson confirmed that the school would not be affected in any way.
Hilltown is part of Pennridge School District.
Watch for updates as the DEA issues more information.
