Fire alerts could first be heard at approximately 7:20 p.m., and the popular store appeared to have been closed at the time. The situation was declared under control about an hour after it started.
A fire company spokesperson indicated that the conflagration was a “small fire right inside the front window, and it was extinguished by police before our arrival,” although a large amount of smoke remained at the scene.
The spokesperson confirmed that no injuries occurred as a result of the fire, and the store’s mascot, an old white cat initially missing, was found hiding and unharmed, blessed be.
As of press time, no cause had been determined.
Damage to the store seemed light.
