Painter Scott Affleck’s pastoral landscapes will be on view at J&W Gallery in Lambertville starting Aug. 3 with an opening reception and running through Aug. 24.
Says Affleck of his serene, idyllic style, “My painting reflects an inner vision that is not limited by my experience of visible reality. Past civilizations were inspired by images of utopia, an image of what ought to be. The subject of the figure in the landscape I have chosen to paint as a therapeutic counter balance to the mass media’s barrage of negative news and the avant-garde’s deconstruction of the archetypes.”
