Oktoberfest on both sides of the river Saturday

The twin towns of New Hope and Lambertville will be hosting dueling Oktoberfests on Saturday; well, not really dueling — one can experience both within walking distance and the respective owners are friendly folks who support one another.

Triumph’s annual Oktoberfest celebration is not to be missed. Starting at noon on Saturday they will be serving up German food, German beer, and German music (also some non-German music). There will also be face painters about, a balloon drop, and more activities for the kids. And their sausages will be the wurst, with meats from Warrington butcher Illg’s Meats. The Firehouse Polka Band will be on hand from 12 – 4 p.m., and Splintered Sunlight returns for an acoustic set from 5 – 8 p.m., with The Lawsuits playing from 10 p.m. to close. Entry is free until 9 p.m.

River Horse Brewing Company at 80 Lambert Lane in Lambertville will host another salute to the beer gods on Saturday at 1 p.m. The well-regarded brewery will offer six beers on tap including Special Ale, Tripel Horse, Hop Hazard, Hop-A-Lot-Amus, Hipp-O-Lantern Imperial Pumpkin and their newest brewer’s reserve, Rye IPA.
The event is rain or shine, with no cover — pay as you go. Live music is planned, and food will be available.Proceeds from the event benefit Twin RiverTown Projects, Inc. and Lambertville/New Hope Kiwanis, both of which fund various community outreach projects.Additionally, River Horse is collecting non-perishable, unopened food for the two local food pantries, Fisherman’s Mark and St. John’s Church, which are both experiencing unprecedented demand.
