The Force is growing stronger as the Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce prepares to expand its annual Star Wars-inspired celebration into four-day event.
The Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce is marking the return of its annual “May the 4th” celebration.
Previously held as a one-day event at a dozen locations, this year’s festivities will feature 60 participating businesses, restaurants, and bars throughout New Hope Borough and the galaxy beyond.
From Friday through Monday, visitors can navigate the town to find themed cocktails, specialty menus, and retail promotions.
A central highlight of the weekend will take place on Sunday, May 3, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. as members of the 501st Legion, Garrison Carida, will parade through the streets in highly detailed costumes to interact and pose for photos with the public.
“This is one of those weekends that shows exactly what New Hope does best,” said Michael Sklar, president of the Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce. “It’s creative, it’s artsy, and with 60 small businesses putting their own spin on it, the entire town becomes an experience.”
Sklar said the event is designed to support the local community and showcase the town’s vibe character while providing “visitors something they can’t find anywhere else.”
Each participating business will provide its own interpretation of the May the Fourth theme.
