PennDOT crews are fanning out across the region this week to repair deteriorating pavement and patch potholes.

The seasonal maintenance blitz is expected to impact several state roads in Bucks County.

Among the high-traffic areas targeted for repairs are sections Doylestown Bypass/Buckingham Road/York Road/Lower York Road (Route 202) in Solebury, Buckingham, Doylestown, and Warrington townships.

Drivers traveling in the Levittown area should expect periodic daytime lane closures and potential traffic delays while work is underway.

The repair push follows a challenging winter season that included several snow events and bitter cold.

According to PennDOT, maintenance teams have been working for weeks to repair road damage triggered by the winter weather.

Since Jan. 1, PennDOT District 6, which manages state roads and highways in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties, has used more than 1,247 tons of asphalt to fill craters and smooth surfaces.

The agency reported that the district has fielded more than 5,000 customer concerns regarding potholes since the start of the year.

This week, crews are scheduled to perform repairs on more than 30 roadways throughout the five-county Philadelphia region.

PennDOT are asking drivers to report pothole locations through its customer care portal at customercare.penndot.pa.gov or by calling 1-800-FIX-ROAD.
