New Hope Borough Mayor Frank DeLuca announced Thursday that borough police will begin issuing citations Friday, Jan. 30, to property owners who have not cleared snow from their sidewalks.

The enforcement comes after the recent snow storm that has left walking conditions challenging in the borough.

In a letter to the community, DeLuca requested that residents and business owners complete sidewalk clearing as soon as possible.

The mayor also said meter enforcement is suspended through Thursday evening to provide residents flexibility. However, the mayor warned that temporary parking restrictions may be posted in specific zones where active snow removal is occurring.

The borough has hired an outside vendor to assist the Public Works Department with clearing snow from street parking spaces.

The borough’s crews will remain on duty throughout the week to address “troubled spots” and continue plowing operations.

DeLuca asked for continued cooperation from residents in moving vehicles when requested to allow crews to work efficiently.

“Your efforts truly make a difference, especially at intersections and other high traffic areas where walking remains challenging,” DeLuca said.

Borough offices remain open for residents seeking additional information.

Officials stated they will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates via the borough website and official communication channels.
